I’ve known Renita for a while now. Originally from America, Renita now lives in Wigtown, which the book town in Scotland, with the most stunning views across the estuary. When I’ve performed at the festival, the children have all been whipped up to a frenzy by Renita, who welcomes them in and “settles them down” [...]
This is part of my Mother’s Day set of tutorials as on monday I’ll be showing how to draw a posy of Pansies to make a mother’s Day card or birthday card. I know we had Mother’s Day in the UK already, but it’s Mother’s Day in the USA Next week!
It’s Mother’s Day in the USA next weekend, so I’ve done some tutorials for all my viewers in the States, showing how to write MOM in different ways. four more to come tomorrow.
In Britain, my viewers will be saying “But we just had Mother’s Day” and you’d be right, But in the United States they have Mother’s Day at a Different time of year. Maybe because their winters are harder than ours and they can’t get to the restaurant to take Mom out for a slap up meal.
Mom? I hear my British viewers saying? Yes Mom, because that’s what they say in the USA and many other places. We say Mum mostly. In Wales they say Mam.
What do you say? My viewers come form all around the world so tell me what you call your Mother in your country in the comments – could be interesting :)

It looks completely impossible, but follow the instructions in the video carefully, and you will be able to maze your friends by drawing this incredible optical illusion !
There is something about this drawing that your brain just doesn’t want your hand to do. You ave to take your time and force you hand to draw the right lines! Have a go! let me know if you found it hard or easy in the comments :)
Learn how to draw the Cutty Sark, which has been fully restored after the terrible fire that seemed to have destroyed it a few years ago. It now stands in Dry Dock, so you can see the her copper bottom and yesterday, the Queen officially re-opened there to the viewing public.
you can find out more at the Cutty Sark Website.
I was asked to supply a photo for the Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham, that I’m going to be at this year. I typed my name into the Computer search box to find something and these two pictures appeared next to each other (pause as cat enters studio looking for some attention!)
The first is me aged about 6 with a stray cat I found and we adopted called Eeek! and the second is my beautiful Marmadukewho died six years ago ( pause while his sister jumps onto my lap – how did she know what I was writing about?) It was one of my first blog entries and you can see how devastated I was.
The picture of Marmaduke must be around 1999.
I’m indebted to TouTube user cresshead for making a movie about my new kindle book, Craig M’nure. He shows it on and a colour android tablet and kindle as well. He seems impressed with the way it’s come out and so am I. I think I may have to do more for kindle even if it’s going to take quite a lot more organisation. Watch this space.
