Generation Moon is a trilogy to inspire the Artemis Generation.

It all began when the reality dawned on me that children in school today will live and work on the Moon. As it was in the 1960s, a new race to space is underway. As well as the NASA, the China Space Agency has huge ambitions. That’s what really got me thinking.

To get myself in the mood, I began to build a rocket that I could take to schools and libraries, so I could explain how a Moon landing mission would work.
I was amazed by the reaction of 10 and 11 year olds. In each group a few will perk-up and their eyes begin to sparkle. By the end of my sessions, there’s usually one child asking where they can sign up to be an astronaut.
They want to go… now!
But how to get a child in space? Surely there are rules, and would parents be happy to see their kids be shot off on top of a rocket?
Glenn John is an orphan. His parents once worked for the Space Agency. It vis the Agency who come to save him from a boring foster home. Glenn is lifted out of his gloom and taken to Ty Bryn – The International Space School – in the green hills of Wales in the UK.
There he meets and falls-in with Chen-Xing, or CJ as she is known at school. Chen-Xing means Morning Star in Chinese.
Together they work hard to get onto the astronaut training program – being the first kid in space and on the Moon is the ambition of both youngsters. It’s a friendly rivalry, but can it stay that way?

Generation Moon introduces us to Glenn and CJ and follows them through the school year, as they learn practical skills and have lots of adventures. Will they get through to the astronaut training program? Will their friendship last or will rivalry tear them apart?
In book two, The First kid in Space, Glenn and CJ are pitted against each other to be the first kid in space.
Can their friendship survive while they are separated by thousands of miles and two very different cultures?

In book three, First Kid on the Moon, our heroes have to pick themselves up and start all over again.
The ultimate challenge awaits.
The Moon is calling.
Who will be the first kid on the Moon?
