The humpback has to be my favourite. We went whale watching off Boston Mass and saw a large pod. the came so close to the boat for a while and then they went wild breaching, splashing about in massive, gargantuan abandon. I also saw one from above when having a trip around the harbour in a float plane off Vancouver Island. The pilot dived down in an alarming spin to get a better view, leaving me white knuckled.
