Olympia – Making the covers for my new series – part one

I’m working on the covers for my new series, Olympia, at the moment. I’ve only written one story so far and just finished a major edit. It is a bit weird doing the covers before the stories have been written, but I have very full plots worked out, so I pretty well know what the covers should look like. I hope thge video igives some idea of what goes into the process of writing a series. There are months of this ahead, so keep coming back!

Axel Storm – Sea Wolf – Artwork finished

Phew! The artwork for my sixth Axel Storm book is finished. Sea Wolf is probably the most exciting, involving dangerous rescues ant se and general danger of loss of life and limb! Printing and publishing schedules mean that I’ll hardly have time to draw breath before beginning the last two books, which need to be finished by the end of the month, because I’m spending the whole of Children’s Book Week in Gurnsey this year. An exciting few weeks coming up.

Axel Storm Book 2 finished

Axel Storm PictureWell, that’s the second book of Axel Storm finished. Phew! Off to the Post office with it tomorrow and away it goes to My Publishers, Orchard, in London.
One more story to write, which I really must get down to this week. But I’m off to visit a school near Caerphilly tomorrow and on Wednesday I’m going to have a fab day with “my class” (that’s Rowan Class at Whitchurch School in Herefordshire), who are going off to visit a school in Handsworth in inner city Birmingham tomorrow. The Handsworth School are coming to Whitchurch on Wednesday and we are going to spend the day in their Forest School, having campfires and such like. Should be fascinating to see what the children that live in totally different areas make of each others lives!
