I have started my new Story Channel – Learn English Through Story and have just uploaded the first video actually made for the channel.
Please see the new channel, subscribe and watch some videos – I need to get to 1000 subscribers and 10,000 hrs watched to get a proper channel link.
It’s a Viking Vik Story – Freya has challenged Vik and Wulf to a contest. They have to eat the most disgusting things she can find. But will Wulf eat his fill fairly and squarely, and will Vik triumph in the end?
Viking Vik stories are written for newly confident readers, with high story interest and easy text. Follow along with the story as I read the story.
You can support this channel and get advertising free versions of this video and a pdf ebook download of the book when you support this channel on Patreon see here for details
This is a live session about Walker, the boy who can talk to Dogs, that I made for the Big Dog Children’s Book Festival for Dumfries in Scotland, organised by the Wigtown Book Festival.

Today I will be telling the story of Craig M’nure, who lives on an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. He makes a living from collecting bird poo and selling it as fertiliser. The story is about the year the internet came to his island and a TV crew cam to make a fly on the wall documentary about him.
I’m afraid I will be putting on a very bad Scottish accent and hope my Scottish friends forgive me.
I’ll be telling you a bit about why and how I wrote the stories, then I will show you how to draw Viking Vik, so make sure you have paper and pencil ready to join in. you can share your drawings on Twitter or instagram with the Hashtag #shoobeedoodle and I will show any drawings I like on the show.
This show is live but it is “made for kids” so there can be no comments or chat during the show. I will however be taking comments and suggestions on my twitter stream at @shoorayner.
