I had a wonderful couple of days drawing with Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth last week.

Year Three had been “doing” Dinosaurs recently, so I decided we should try to make an illustration – a bit of a story – with the picture we were going to draw.

We put the T Rex in the foreground so we could see the evil intent in his eyes, then arranged the prey in the landscape behind, with a pterodactyl flying in the sky. We added a few prehistoric looking trees and then tried to think up some prehistoric jokes – not just any old jokes but jokes about prehistoric times!

I don’t think the girls realised quite how hard they worked, keeping their concentration going right to the end!
