Drawing Cartoon People 4 – Body Proportions

Body-Proportions---4Do you need to know about body proportions when drawing cartoons? Can’t you just draw what you like – big heads or circular bodies?

Well, yes you can, but using our definition of a cartoon as “A simple, two dimensional drawing,” cartoons are good for realistic or representational drawings too.

A basic understanding of body proportions will stand you in good stead whether drawing realistic or character drawings. The more you explore and practice body proportions, the more naturally it will come to you. Then, you won’t have to think about it, but just draw.
