• It’s always lovely to receive stuff in the post, but even better when it comes from your No1 fan. Luke has been following my drawing videos for a while and has read loads of my books too. Love these Christmas themed drawings, Happy Christmas is a recent video on DrawStuffRealEasy. The portrait of me is even better – makes me look so much younger. Thank’s Luke. Flattery is the first skill a portrait artist has to learn. 🙂

  • I’m always asked what art materials I use and have explained many times before, but if you are wondering what you would like for Christmas, or what someone else would like for Christmas, then these are my tried and tested top six sketching items.

They are all reasonably priced. Below are Amazon links. If you click and buy, then I will get a small referral fee, but you will not be charged. This will help me to keep my drawing channels going!

  • Greek Theatre Mask from the new book

Currently I’m working on a How to draw Ancient Greek Stuff book, which is proving more complicated that I’d imagined. The complications are mostly in the style and design of the book, which I want to be the basis of a continuing format.

Recently, when I mentioned it to a year three class – which would be 2nd Grade in the US – they cheered, what convinced me that I’m doing the right thing.

I’m planning to have all the artwork finished and the book ready early in the New Year, when I will launch it as a Kickstarter Project.

I’m already thinking about the next book in the series, so what do you think I should do next? Which subject matter would be most helpful in drawing generally or in school or home school curricula? I suppose this is market research. I’m turning into a publisher!
