• Welcome to my online drawing course, Everyone Can Draw.

Drawing is a skill that you can learn, just the same way you learned to draw letters and then learned to write words, when you were young. You may not be a great novelist or poet, but you can write.

Once you have the basic knowledge of drawing, you can build on the foundation. If you want to be an artist, the ability to draw will give you the freedom to be creative.

If you don’t aspire to be a great artist, that’s fine – it is allowed! Drawing is a great hobby – it is cheap, relaxing and rewarding.

Being able to draw will help you understand this increasingly visual world, and you will have developed an amazing skill that will help you visualise and clearly communicate your ideas.

The ability to draw is prized in many walks of life. You will also amaze your friends and gain their admiration for something they think is magical, but you will know that it just took a bit of work and practice.

Watch this introductory videos to get started, then go on to the intro.

  • Learn to draw a WWI Biplane. Sort of based on a sop with Pup, because I drew the airframe of one earlier this year – see my sketchbook – https://youtu.be/sUii48gMaHA

This tutorial shows you the structure of a biplane and how to draw your own. See more WWI WWI Drawing videos here: http://bit.ly/WWI_Drawing_Videos

Tip: you can use the space bar to stop and start the video to keep up with the drawing. You can always watch through again if you find it a bit complicated.

  • I was researching what people do in countries where it might be summer at christmas time and came across pictures of people dressing up the cacti in their back yards. I guess all over the world different trees get strung with lights at christmas time.

I was also very pleased with the wordplay involved. The Christmas Cactus is a much smaller plant that flowers at Christmas time. Indeed, I have three of them sprouting on my bathroom windowsill. None of them are wearing christmas hats… yet!Christmas-Cactus
