• To celebrate the opening of SkyFall, the latest James Bond movie (which is said to be really great) I thought I’d do a video about how to draw His preferred gun The Walther PPK.

It was designed before the Second World War by Walther in Germany, as a short police pistol – easy to carry and conceal under clothing. The slide had a habit of cutting the web between the tumb and forefinger so they added the tang on the bottom of the magazine to extend the grip further downwards in the 1960’s when Bond was first being filmed.

Here’s a diagram of the various angles and proportions to help you draw it.

  • To celebrate the opening of SkyFall, the latest James Bond movie (which is said to be really great) I thought I’d do a video about how to draw Daniel Craig. Easier said than done! He has an unusually shaped head and every time I drew him he ended up looking like President Putin of Russia.

In the end, I thought i would just relax and draw him in my natural style and not get too hung about about it.His cheeks are too fat, but if you narrow them down, you lose that roundness to face that he has. I don’t think portraiture is my strong point, but you have to do the work to get better!

Here’s a picture to show you the proportions that I started with.

  • You can win me for a day, thanks to those very nice people at Derwent Pencils. There are two days on offer in the Uk only – one for KS1 and one for KS2.

“How do we enter?” I hear you say. Well, click here or on the picture to go to the Derwent website and download the latest Halloween flavoured Art.Scene magazine. There are a couple of Halloween ideas for schools to have a go at them and enter to win me!

Hurry – the closing date is the 15th of November. Get your kids working like crazy and I’ll be rolling up to your school to have a fun day of drawing and storytelling.

    Good luck 🙂
