• I’m very aware that a lot of my readers are from the United States, so I’ve done a couple of 4th of July lessons. Here’s the first! (We don’t celebrate the loss of our greatest colony in Britain, by the way! 😉

  • Getting ready for the Summer reading challenge, here is the first of my Circus themed videos for all the Libraries that are taking part.

  • My YouTube drawing school friend and follower, Jacob, who lives in Sweden, wrote to me this week with the following message:

Last year i was just finished with school and i had no idea what i wanted to do with my life.
I wanted a job that i should loved, i wanted to draw and use my creative in my future job.
Then i found your channel and I got pumped too take my dream and make it real. So now one year later, i will start at a graphic design school for video games

When I started my drawing school, my idea was to show children how to draw the characters in my books. Then I began to get requests and the channel went off in a completely different direction. I’m still trying to get an idea of how I should focus it more. Maybe I shouldn’t – maybe the scattergun approach is right.

However, I never thought to inspire others in such a way as I still feel I’m learning myself – but they do say the best way to learn is to teach.

I’m thrilled that my efforts have inspired Jacob – who also did the attached drawing of me doing one of my pieces to camera. Good luck to you, Jacob, and I hope you go on to create wonderful new characters for games in the future.
