• I had a wonderful day at Mougins International school in Cannes. The sunshine helped to make it a very memorable day.

The school is modern and purpose built and set in beautiful surroundings backing onto beautiful pine forest.

Years five and six did amazing Bluebeard drawings from my scaredy cars book – Bluebeards cat. Some of the drawings looked suspiciously like Philip Ardagh – ill post some them when I get home.

Thanks everybody for a great day.

  • This morning we went I Ebica, the Ecole bilingue internationale côte dazur. It is based in office buildings on a technology park which seemed strangely familiar to me.

It came to me eventually. I used to be big fan of J G Ballard. Many of his stories are set in technology parks on the cote dazure. He described the place perfectly.

In the Uk we might think it odd to have a school in office buildings, but modern offices are very adaptable, especially to the kind of self-run school encouraged by the libcon government, so we may see more like it in the Uk soon.

Thanks for a fun morning everyone!
