• I’m going completely mad, installing a new hard disk drive into my ageing apple ibook, going from 30mb to 160mb. I got the disk from malaysia on ebay.

Of course it didn’t work! But I thought it should, so I undid all the mad, fiddly screws again and eventually found that I’d inadvertantly dislodged a connector in a place I hadn’t even opened up.

By this time all the screws were muddled up and I forgot to put various bits back so I’ve opened an closed it about five times now. But the disk is there and loading a new, fresh operating system on.

I’d upgrade to leopard before, but I’m taking it back to Tiger, because it didn’t really seem to happy. I’ll see how it goes.

  • I’ve got quite a few pics to share from my tip to Devon yesterday and today. I’m too tired to sort them out at the moment, but here’s one to keep you going. It’s from the Boat Trip Booking Office on the pier at Torquay.

No trips yesterday due to “Wobbly Water”!

That sounds very unlikely to me – sounds like the Captain had a headache and didn’t feel like it, to me.

  • I wrote last Friday how I’d woken up early with the idea to make a story work after years of telling then writing then rewriting. Well I tried it out today at Dartmouth and Kingsbridge Libraries, and it works brilliantly. Just one or two little changes and I can get on with a dummy. I’m thrilled. I’ve been trying to get this right for so long and all it need was to find out the name of the heroine… simples!
