• Rhonda Valley - South WalesWhat a grey and wet old day to go visiting Llwyn-y-pia Primary School, a vast victorian barn clinging to the side of the Rhonda Valley.

I had a lot of fun and we came up with some great ideas for stories, including a Snake Man who has to be controlled by a specially adapted digger, Ricky Rocket on a trip to catch star fish and a fun story about a beleaguered young girl called lilly with eight brothers and horrible, insensitive parents, who were very Dalek-like!

The trip back was much nicer as the sun had come out, making the bracken covered valley glow.

  • Basically this means getting faster, but it should really have a mathematical or statistical element to the increase in speed. So tomorrow you may go twice as fast as today, and the dafter you may go twice as fast again. Kind of like how we are depleting the resources of Planet Earth.

It must be about ten years ago that I began writing lullabies with the idea of doing a picturebook. I had such negative reaction to the dummy I showed I kind of gave up. No one liked my hero and thought no one would by a lullaby books with unknown lullabies in it.

I’ve now realised that Youtube could maybe let me approach the project from a different angle, so, here for your amusement and delectation is a demo of one of the songs called City Lullaby, inspired by a hot steamy visit to New York. I was amazed at the noise and bustle that never seemed to stop. I wondered how any child ever got to sleep there.
