Two Headed Calf – Hereford Museum
I had a lovely day in Hereford Library on Tuesday, talking to The Mordiford Dragons, The Rainbow Nursery and the Broadlands Bright Sparks.

I had a terrible time getting there, as my wife and daughter were off with the car in London for my daughter’s Drama School Auditions. I had to use her car and get my son and his friend to school. The town is all dug up so the traffic lights are all askew so I was delayed there and delayed all along. Couldn’t find the car park in Hereford I was after so had to go to one I knew – Did I have change for the machine!? I managed to drop my bag and break a pint mug I was going to use for washing my brushes out (yes I do paintings for them – Ian Beck would be horrified!) so my bag was full of broken glass when I arrived – just in the nick of time!

After our session the Dragons were going upstairs to the Hereford Museum – they told me about the two-headed calf – I had to see that! Sure enough there is an old display case, and inside is a stuffed two-headed calf. It’s a bit bizarre. The fake eyes make it look quite sweet. There is also a huge stuffed sturgeon that was caught in the river. I’m going back for more Nursery and Playgroup fun next week – I shall explore the museum a bit more.

  • I went to Cardiff today and had a great time. Marlborough Rd infants were having a weather theme, which was a bit difficult wit the reception and nursery, but managed to weave Viking Vik on the snow and The Sand Man into the weather theme for years 2 and 3.
At lunchtime I went for a little wander and found this wonderful bitof letter cutting at the local Baptist Church.

  • What fun, I’m writing this on my new iPhone. I downloaded a great app that let’s me do blog entries on the move.

I’ll no doubt drive my wife mad with this, she’s already rolling her eyes to heaven.
