Sketching on the beach at Porthcawl

Last week I was working in the Awen Library area. It was so hot, after I’d finished, it seemed like a good idea to visit the beach in Porthcawl.

It was blisteringly hot. I managed to find enough shade, behind the sea wall, to keep my feet from burning and started sketching the people on the beach.

The sand slowed them down, and the slope of the beach added to their general weariness at the ned of the day, gave everyone a tired, leaning forward weariness, as they trudged back and forth to get their ice creams or wend their way back to the car park.

It took about 40 mins to draw them all.
