Lockdown Quarantine Storytime

I wondered what I could do to help all those who are stuck inside during the Corona Virus Quarantine Lockdown Periods and decide that I should tell stories as if I was on a school visit. Read the story, talk about it and comment on it and draw characters from the story too.

And I thought I would do it live!

Learn to draw Galactic Dodecathelon Champion Spike Trackaway by following Shoo’s how to draw section in the video.

As the video stream is “Made for Kids” there can be no comments or chat during the show, because of recent safeguarding changes at YouTube.

However, I will however be taking comments and suggestions on my twitter stream at @shoorayner. If you want to share drawings that are related to my books and stories, then please use the hashtag #shoobeedoodle.

I am going to try and do this every week day during the current, growing crisis as a sort of distance learning option for schools that have closed or may have too soon.

Feel free to set classwork around the stories, to embed the video on your own website and share your work through your school or class twitter account.

Millie and Bombassa Story

I’ve been working on getting my ShooRaynerStoryTime Channel sorted out. For some reason my channel name didn’t work properly, but my YouTube channel Manager, Lynda, seems to have got it sorted out.

So this is the latex video to be added to the channel. I did it a while ago so it’s time I started making new story videos. With the story comes a how to draw millie video too!

Bombassa is a lazy but loveable rhino who would rather lie in bed all day, drinking tea and dunking biscuits. Millie is a sweet and sensible bird who want’s Bombassa to buck up his ideas. Together they make a great pair.

Yikes! Auntie Daz is coming for tea, but Bombassa’s only chair is very wobbly. It’s time for a bit of DIY – but soon the chair is wobblier than ever!

” Funny with great pictures”

Renita Boyle – A Preposterously Purple Performer!

RenitaBoyleI’ve known Renita for a while now. Originally from America, Renita now lives in Wigtown, which the book town in Scotland, with the most stunning views across the estuary.

When I’ve performed at the festival, the children have all been whipped up to a frenzy by Renita, who welcomes them in and “settles them down” with songs about stinky things and choruses that end in “Eeeeuew!”

Renita has begun putting stories on YouTube for all to share. Here is one that has so many Ps in it I’m surprised we can still see through the lens of the camera by the end of the story.

Checkout her YouTube channel here and make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss any new stories!
