The Eurovision Song Contest was a bit different this year and actually not as exciting for drawing as before. Most of the artists looked and dressed the same and were outperformed by the fantastic staging – what they can’t do with lights and projectors these days!

Anyway, I get a few seconds to decide who or what I’m going to draw and a few seconds to take in the image before the camera cuts away and never shows that view again. While I’m rapidly putting down a few lines, I’m thinking up a funny comment to tweet. then I photograph it compose the message tweet instagram Facebook and tumbl it. by that time the next act is already on and I’m not even sure what country it is.

Next year, I think I will concentrate on the drawing and forwent the tweeting – unless I can get an assistant for the night!
