Perspective is one thing to get your head around, but foreshortening can be quite a mind-twister. Basically it is explained using perspective.
If you put your hand over your face and look in the mirror, it pretty much covers from chin to brow. Now move your hand arm’s length and it will cover the whole head. Things nearer to the viewer appear larger than things further away. So a cow in the barn next to you is much bigger than the cat three fields away.
Drawing people with hands or legs outstretched towards the viewer can cause problems when drawing, but if you take a logical, perspective view, it all begins to make sense.
Perfect, very useful thank you so much for your pleasant and professional presentation.
