How to Draw Daniel Craig – James Bond 007

October 22, 20128 Comments

To celebrate the opening of SkyFall, the latest James Bond movie (which is said to be really great) I thought I’d do a video about how to draw Daniel Craig. Easier said than done! He has an unusually shaped head and every time I drew him he ended up looking like President Putin of Russia.

In the end, I thought i would just relax and draw him in my natural style and not get too hung about about it.His cheeks are too fat, but if you narrow them down, you lose that roundness to face that he has. I don’t think portraiture is my strong point, but you have to do the work to get better!

Here’s a picture to show you the proportions that I started with.

  1. Maybe…

The irony is that your drawing doesn’t look a million miles away from George Lazenby.

  2. James says:

Smooth going! Very impressive, I’ll avoid any 007 puns. But cracking picture nonetheless :)

Thanks for that, but I can’t see George Lazenby in it! All the other drawing videos you see on YouTube are straight copies of photographs. I’ve studied a lot of them and analysed the structure of Daniel Craig’s face. The trouble is I’m drawing in cramped conditions with the camera in the way so I can’t see the drawing properly, trying to do it quickly to fit a time schedule and giving a commentary as I go – which distracts me from concentrating on the drawing. other than that – I’m quite pleased witht the way it turned out! all the best :)

Thanks – I feel I should say something about shaken and stirred, but it doesn’t quite fit or make sense!

  5. D Bomb says:

That is not very good. Its very bad in fact.

  6. Shoo says:

    Thanks :)

  7. The Truth says:

This looks nothing like Daniel Craig? I don’t understand how people can say this is good.. It’s really bad.
