I was researching what people do in countries where it might be summer at christmas time and came across pictures of people dressing up the cacti in their back yards. I guess all over the world different trees get strung with lights at christmas time.

I was also very pleased with the wordplay involved. The Christmas Cactus is a much smaller plant that flowers at Christmas time. Indeed, I have three of them sprouting on my bathroom windowsill. None of them are wearing christmas hats… yet!
